The Role of the Aerosol Indirect Effect in the Northern Indian Ocean Warming Simulated by CMIP5 Models |
Figure 1 Comparison of the annual mean heat budgets in the 0-50 m layer over the NIO for different models from 1950 to 2000. Except for the derivative of the 0-50 m heat content, which shows absolute values, the data are presented as anomalies from the mean of the first five years for each series, and have been smoothed with a 9-yr running mean. Advective and diffusive fluxes are calculated as the closing term between the derivative of the annually averaged 0-50 m heat content DH and the surface fluxes. The surface fluxes include HF sensible heat flux plus latent heat flux, SW surface net shortwave flux, and LW surface net longwave flux. All variables are in units of W m -2 . |
